Holyoke picks
up six runs in second inning, win 15-6

The Pittsfield Dukes lost to the Holyoke Giants by the score of 15-6 on
Saturday night in Holyoke.
The Dukes (13-25) fell behind when the Holyoke Giants picked up six runs
on seven hits in the bottom of the second inning off Dukes starter Max
Warren. He went 3 2/3 innings on the night, allowing eight runs on ten
hits. Miles Whitlock pitched 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.
Offensively, the Dukes picked up eight hits on the night and scored a
run in the top of the fourth inning when Jake Willis reached on an error
and Grant Escue came into score. Giants’ starter Scott Barnes went six
innings and did not allow an earned run on two hits and struck out seven
batters.
In the top of the eighth, Rick Seltzer hit an RBI single to drive in
Grant Escue, who was 3-4 with two runs scored. Randy Gress picked up a
single and a double for the Dukes. They scored three runs in the ninth
on two sacrifice flies and a wild pitch.
The Dukes return home tomorrow, Sunday July 30th to take on the
Torrington Twisters at 5 p.m. It’s Fan Appreciation Night at Wahconah
Park. They will make up Wednesday’s game vs. North Adams on Tuesday
night at 7 p.m.
