Dukes and ‘Cats to Host All-Star Banquet to Honor Jeff Reardon
PITTSFIELD, Mass. (Friday July 6, 2007) – The Pittsfield Dukes
announced that, in cooperation with the North Adams SteepleCats
that, they will hold a banquet to honor former major-leaguer and
Jeff Reardon.
The banquet will be a formal affair and will take place on the night
before the NECBL All-Star Game on July 21st, at JJ's Lodge of the
Jiminy Peak Mountain Resort, located on 37 Corey Road, Hancock, MA.
Cocktails will begin at 7 p.m. and dinner will begin at 8 p.m.
Also attending the event will be other prominent baseball figures
and friends of Mr. Reardon's as well as NECBL league and team
executives. There are a limited number of tickets and they will be

Reardon who is a Berkshire County native, born in Pittsfield, raised
in Dalton, and a graduate of Wahconah Regional High School, was a
four-time All-Star selection during his 16 year major league career.
He spent time with the Mets, Expos, Twins, Red Sox, Braves, Reds and
Yankees. He was a dominant closer and earned the nickname, “The
Terminator.” Reardon saved at least 20 games per season from 1982 to
1992. In that stretch he was an All-Star in 1985, 1986, 1988, and
1991.
In 1985 Reardon was awarded the National League’s Rolaid’s Relief
Award, as he led the league in saves with 41. His most prestigious
accomplishment, however, came in 1987 as he closed out the decisive
Game 7 of the World Series, clinching the victory for the Minnesota
Twins over the St. Louis Cardinals.
