Dukes Rained Out for Fourth of July Game, Rescheduled for Monday
Pittsfield, Mass. (Wednesday July 4, 2007) – The Pittsfield Dukes
game that was scheduled for 6:30 against the Manchester Silkworms
has been cancelled to impending rain and thunderstorms Wednesday
afternoon, the game will be played Monday evening.
The fireworks will be rescheduled for Saturday evening to follow the
game against the Torrington Twisters at 7 p.m. Saturday is Parrot
Head Day at the Park which will feature the Margaritaville Shrimp
Bus Tour and Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream.
“The rain might have stopped us today but its just going to make the
festivities for Saturday that much better, “said Dukes’ Director of
Marketing and Promotions Barry Wadsworth. “Now we can offer
fireworks to cap off a great night of fun at Wahconah Park.”
The game scheduled for Wednesday will be played Monday July 9th at
Wahconah Park. Even with the rain out the Dukes will play five
straight games at home against Southern Division opponents.
The Pittsfield Dukes come into the five game home stand riding a
five-game road winning streak. The Dukes, however, are still looking
for their first home victory of the season.
Thursday the Dukes host the North Adams SteepleCats for Game 3 of
the Battle of the Berkshires Series at 7 p.m. Friday the Danbury
Westerners come to town and Saturday is the afore mentioned Party at
the Park. Sunday the Newport Gulls come to town at 5 p.m. and the
weekend set concludes on Monday against the Silkworms at 7 p.m.
