Dukes Rained Out for Fourth of July Game, Rescheduled for Monday

Pittsfield, Mass. (Wednesday July 4, 2007) – The Pittsfield Dukes game that was scheduled for 6:30 against the Manchester Silkworms has been cancelled to impending rain and thunderstorms Wednesday afternoon, the game will be played Monday evening.

The fireworks will be rescheduled for Saturday evening to follow the game against the Torrington Twisters at 7 p.m. Saturday is Parrot Head Day at the Park which will feature the Margaritaville Shrimp Bus Tour and Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream.

“The rain might have stopped us today but its just going to make the festivities for Saturday that much better, “said Dukes’ Director of Marketing and Promotions Barry Wadsworth. “Now we can offer fireworks to cap off a great night of fun at Wahconah Park.”

The game scheduled for Wednesday will be played Monday July 9th at Wahconah Park. Even with the rain out the Dukes will play five straight games at home against Southern Division opponents.

The Pittsfield Dukes come into the five game home stand riding a five-game road winning streak. The Dukes, however, are still looking for their first home victory of the season.

Thursday the Dukes host the North Adams SteepleCats for Game 3 of the Battle of the Berkshires Series at 7 p.m. Friday the Danbury Westerners come to town and Saturday is the afore mentioned Party at the Park. Sunday the Newport Gulls come to town at 5 p.m. and the weekend set concludes on Monday against the Silkworms at 7 p.m.

Season tickets for the Dukes are still available. Tickets can be purchased online at www.pittsfielddukes.com or by calling (413) 447-DUKE.
