Pittsfield Dukes Add Another Arm to the Bullpen
Pittsfield, Mass. (June 30, 2007) – The Pittsfield Dukes made
another midseason acquisition inking right handed pitcher Arric
Mather of Franklin Pierce College.
Mather arrived in Pittsfield yesterday and has been in the dugout
for the first two games since his arrival.
Mather a hard throwing righty from Franklin Pierce College who had a
huge year for the Ravens in his junior season, joins the Dukes who
are now 4-14 following Saturday’s loss to the Newport Gulls. Mathter
posted gaudy numbers for the Division II Northeast 10 Champions,
with a record of 7-1 with a 1.53 ERA. He made twelve appearances,
eight of them starts, he logged 64 and two-thirds innings, striking
out 44 while walking only 22.
The righty will join a Dukes team that has struggled with
inconsistent starting pitching and will look to bolster their
rotation immediately. Mather is scheduled to start Sunday night at
Wahconah Park against the Southern Division leading Torrington
Twisters.
The Dukes will look to Mather to snap their seven game home losing
skid that they have begun the 2007 season with. Pittsfield has lost
two in a row following a winning streak of three games that came at
the end of the Dukes winning four out of five.
First pitch is scheduled for 5 o’clock Sunday from Wahconah Park on
Free Jiminy Peak Alpine Slide Ticket night at the ballpark.
Season tickets for the Dukes are still available. Tickets can be
purchased online at www.pittsfielddukes.com or by calling (413)
447-DUKE.
The Dukes appreciate your support. GO DUKES!!!
