Dukes Announce County-Wide Elementary School Tour

PITTSFIELD, Mass. (Thursday June 7, 2007) –For the week of June 11, 2007 the Pittsfield Dukes players and mascot Duke will be visiting elementary schools all throughout Berkshire County.

The tour is slated to begin Monday morning with Dukes making visits from as far south as Lenox up north to Dalton and Cummington and everywhere in between, visiting one school per day on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday due to their busy road schedule.

The lineup card is filling quickly for the Dukes as they are scheduled to make an appearance 9 a.m. Monday morning at Crosby Elementary School, followed by a Tuesday morning field day event starting at 9 a.m. at Williams Elementary School in Pittsfield. The next stop along the way will be in Cummington Wednesday morning where the Dukes will meet the students of Berkshire Trail Elementary School at 9:30. The final day of the Dukes tour will begin at Allendale Elementary at 9 a.m. and take a swing around the county stopping at Lenox’s Morris Elementary at 12:15 in the afternoon and concluding in Hinsdale at Kittridge Elementary at 1:30.

The tour will include Dukes players and Duke the team’s mascot, speaking with students on a variety of topics such as the importance of staying in school, staying healthy, and being a team player. The players and Duke will also have the opportunity to sign some autographs, as well as handing out free tickets to all the elementary school students in preparation for Friday June 15th’s Berkshire Elementary School Night at Wahconah Park. The Dukes will host the Danbury Westerner’s that night starting at 7 p.m.
