Exciting Opening Weekend in Store for Dukes Fans at Wachonah Park
PITTSFIELD, Mass. (Thursday June 7, 2007) – With the home opener
coming this Saturday Night, Pittsfield Dukes Nation is buzzing with
excitement as the team’s first home game is just around the corner.
While the Dukes 2007 season will get under way Friday evening as the
Dukes travel to North Adams to renew their rivalry with their
county-foe SteepleCats, fans just can’t wait for the weekend.
Saturday night is when the real fun begins as Wahconah Park will
open its gates for another season of NECBL baseball. The Dukes will
play host to the Keene Swamp Bats starting at 7p.m. Saturday Night.
It is Greylock Federal Credit Union night featuring DJ Rob at the
ballpark as the Dukes will look to open their home schedule on a
high note.
Sunday night also promises to be a fun filled evening for Dukes fans
as each fan will receive a free ticket to Jiminy Peak’s New Super
Alpine Slide with their admission to Sunday’s game. Also making an
appearance Sunday will be the “Big Papi” Vitamin Water Truck, giving
out free samples of the aptly dubbed, “Papi Juice.” With the Vitamin
Water Truck comes the large karaoke machine for pre and post game
entertainment.
Dukes Director of Marketing and Promotions Barry Wadsworth
commented, “I’m real excited for opening weekend. We’ve got some
many great things going on at the ballpark this year.” Wadsworth
added, “every game is going to be an event, its going to be
something for people to look forward to.”
First pitch for Sunday’s game against the Manchester Silkworms, like
all Sunday home games for the Dukes this year, will be at 5 p.m.
