Baseball League Showcase
PITTSFIELD, MA (Wednesday, January 17, 2007) - The Pittsfield Dukes
are pleased to announce their schedule for the 2007 regular season.
The Dukes will host 22 home games at Historic Wahconah Park,
beginning on June 9th.
Highlights of the 2007 summer season include Opening Night on
Saturday, June 9th versus the Keene Swamp Bats, with a fireworks
display following the game; the traditional July 4th game at
Wahconah Park following the Pittsfield parade, which will conclude
with a spectacular fireworks show. The schedule also features three
home games against Berkshire County archrivals the North Adams
SteepleCats, which will take place on June 22nd, June 29th, and July
5th. The Dukes will host one last fireworks extravaganza following
the regular season finale home game on July 30th.
The Dukes also look forward to Tuesday, June 19th, when Wahconah
Park will be the site of a match up between Team USA and the newly
established Israel Baseball League. Team USA features the top 25
college prospects in the country, while the IBL is a two month
summer league, whose efforts hope to generate enough interest in the
country of Israel to field a World Baseball Classic team in 2009.
This is a sporting event exclusive to the Dukes and Wahconah Park.
